My featured charity for this freezing winter month of July is Blanket Melbourne.
The plight of these legends is strive to provide a warm clean blanket to every homeless person on the streets of Melbourne this winter.
If you live in Melbourne, or have experienced winter here, it gets BLOODY cold. Now, imagine you’re homeless, with nothing to cover you but whatever clothes you’re wearing – not for one night, but every night.
Blanket Melbourne was created for people to have a central place to donate warm bedding. They accept blankets, doonas, quilts and sleeping bags, both new and used of all sizes. There are kids living on the streets too.
If you do wish to donate some items, please do only donate decent items that will be useful – and fit for a human to sleep in and keep warm. Unsuitable donations cost these guys money to get rid of. Also a bit note – they don’t take clothing, so if you have some winter gear to donate – please take it to your nearest charity that takes clothing donations.
One of the easiest things you can do is hop online, buy a sleeping bag from an online store and have it delivered straight to these guys.
The postal address to do this is:
4/345 Plummer Street
